Freestyle News - January 27th 2012 - Freestyle Courses
During
spring Snowsport England Freestyle will be running a number of courses for coaches. For those of
you that want to become a Park & Pipe coach there will be a two day course at Castleford
on 26-27th May 2012.
We will
soon advise of the dates for the Moguls coaches course, we are just awaiting dates of other
events, so as to ensure fewer diary conflict. This course would allow you to coach on the
moguls. If you are already a Level 2 coach (or BASI), then you will just need
to do the 2 day Park & Pipe course and/or the 2 day Moguls course.
You should be
aware that both qualifications require you to have a first aid qualification. To benefit from
the insurance, you would need to register as a coach with your HNGB (eg Snowsport England, S
nowsport Scotland etc).
Should you
not have a Level 2 coach award (or BASI), then you can do the Skilful Skiing course in lieu
of it. The next one of these will run 12-13th May 2012. There is of course nothing to stop
you doing the Moguls and Park/Pipe course as the Skilful Skiing is required for both of
them (unless you are L2 or BASI).
