CHAIRMANS REPORT

September 1999

As the plastic season draws to an end and we look forward to copious amounts of snow (ever hopeful!) I would like to congratulate the following on their superb efforts in the far-flung north at The British Championships. A good showing from the region was very apparent in the results.

Chemmy Alcott
Zoe Rawlings-Brown
Michelle Palmer
Abigale Gregory
Rebecca O’Neill
Jean White
Mollie King
Nicole Rawlings-Brown
Erica White
Victoria Tampin
Clare Tampin
Annouska Callander
Dave Blackwell
Duncan White
Ben Clark
Michael Shnaps
Andrew Wheble
Dan Palmer
Dean Rawlings-Brown
Philip Hooles

Full results are obtainable on the ESC (Peter Heath's) web site.

Meanwhile back in the heart of the region 130 boys and girls amassed at Chatham for the final race of the season. A wonderful turnout considering other race events going on at the same time. It is great to see emerging talent from our younger racers - the youngest Peri Mortimer at just 5 years old.

Charlie was as amusing and unbiased as ever ably backed up by Alan and Jean on the computer giving current standings as the racers hurtled past the finish line.

As usual Ian, Sally and Miriam did a fantastic job organising and ensuring that all the races of the season have gone smoothly.

Our thanks to all the slopes where the races were held for their excellent support.

Many congratulations to all the medal winners and a special mention to

Jemima Barnes - Fastest Girl
Ed Drake - Fastest Boy
Sam Beattie - Most Improved Boy
Shanna Prince - Most Improved Girl
Louise Thomas - Most Improved Girl

And of course to Bromley Team for winning the Overall Club Trophy.

Full results of this race can be found on the LSERSA web site.

A huge vote of thanks to Terry Bartlett for his continued support with supplying the prizes and of course always being there for those little emergency purchases!!!

Good news for those who get travel sickness (or sick of travel) the British Championships are to be held in our region as it has been awarded to Wycombe Summit for the year 2000.

As the snow season looms ahead I hope you have a good one.
