Chemmy Alcott underlined her superiority at British domestic level yesterday in Meribel, France, when she added the giant slalom to the downhill title she won on Monday at the British Land Alpine Ski Championships. She had a margin of 5.07 seconds over young Scottish racer Melissa Piper.

In the absence of his injured elder brother Alain, who won last year, Noel Baxter came back on the second run to overhaul Finlay Mickel who lead after the first run by 36 hundredths of a second.
