Special Achievement Award for Ed Drake

The Ski Club’s sponsored professional skier wins award after 04/05 season successes

Ed Drake was one of ten to receive a Sports Aid London Special Achievement Award at The Grand Temple, The Freemasons` Hall in London, on the 1st June 2005.

The award was given in recognition for Edward having been selected to the British Land Alpine Team and the results he achieved during his successful 2004-2005 season. Justin Bygott-Web Chairman of Sports Aid London presented the award to Edwards` father, as Edward was unable to attend due to his being in Austria on a training camp.

The evening was also held to celebrate the achievements of many of London’s most talented athletes. Sports Aid donated 246 grants to younger sports people. Many of the donors and London Borough Mayors were attending to recognise the dedication of the athletes and to support London’s bid to host the 2012 Olympics.

The Ski Club of Great Britain sponsor Ed Drake, and we would like to congratulate him on this award and wish him all the best with his current training in Tignes.
