At Kandahar’s AGM and dinner on the 1st December, Ed was presented with the Premier Award in recognition of his successful season 2004/05 by Beat Holder, President of Kandahar.

Ed out for the 2005/06 season
During summer training Ed was experiencing some pain in his hip. Following scans and x-rays it was discovered that he had damaged a ligament. The doctor explained that he could carry on with this season if he could ski with the pain, have an operation at the end of this season, and take 2-3 months to recover.Ed had a huge decision to make and after talking to his coaches and Mark Tilston (Performance Director, Snowsport GB) he decided that he could not guarantee that he would be able to give this season 100%.
So he opted to have the operation on his hip - on 12th December - so that he would be fully recovered in order to take advantage of the summer training and be up to full fitness ready for next year. This wasn’t an easy decision for Ed as he was looking forward to his last year as a Junior racer, but the possibility of not achieving his best for 2 seasons at half fitness meant a sacrifice had to be made.
