It will come as no surprise to everyone that Chemmy Alcott won pretty much everything at the British Championships this year, and was the overall combined winner and the VICTOR LUDORUM. The only person who spoilt Chemmy’s clean sweep was Louise Thomas who won the Super Combined after a storming Slalom run. Louise was also 2nd in the Giant Slalom and 2nd in the junior Super G. The Overall Men’s winner was Ed Drake, who won the Giant Slalom, was 1st British, and 3rd overall in the Super G, 1st British in the Downhill and 1st overall in the Super Combined.

In the junior competition Daniel Absalom was 1st British JN1 Boy in the Slalom, with JP Espinosa in 3rd place. Peter Whelan shone in the speed events, with a top British Junior Boy, 2nd overall in the Downhill and 2nd British Junior Boy, 3rd overall, in the Super-G. Nick Robinson, of BGR, was the top British Junior 1 boy in both events. Peter Bruton was 3rd British Junior Boy in the Giant Slalom, and a frustrated Franki Simonds, who missed more than half the races due to glandular fever and a recurrence of her back problems, was delighted to round off her week with a 3rd British Junior Girl in the GS. Another LSERSA skier who deserves a mention was Chris Dixon, who skied the race of his life in a very testing junior Slalom, to finish 5th Junior British Boy and improving his performance by nearly 40 points.
