Artificial Slope Season Age Groups (for 2011 & 2012)

Snow Season Age Groups for 2011/12 are the same as the Artificial Slope Season Age Groups for 2011.

Following the FIS decision to change the FIS age groups with effect from the start of the 2012/13, SSE has published the Age Groups for National Races in Summer 2012.

The Age Groups to be used in LSERSA races will continue to be offset from the SSE National Groups and are specified in the Bulletin for the Summer 2012 series. Click here for details of the FIS, SSE and LSERSA Age Groups for 2011 and 2012.

Surrey Schools Ski Championships - Aldershot - Sunday 14th October

 

In response to a number of comments received about the format of the race series and race days we have made the following changes this year:

• Slope and Race office will open at 08:00, so racing will start earlier.
• Dual slalom teams will be organised during third run, based on runs 1 & 2.
• There will be no Superstars competition nor lunch break, so minimal gap between competitions.
• Initial stage of club team races will run before scratch/fun team races.
• For series prizes, points from 4 races will count with a minimum of 3 needed.
• There is a minor change to points awarded (15, 12, 10, 8, ...) for each race.
• Age groups have changed - to keep them offset from changed FIS/SSE age groups.

If you can please fill in the Word Doc version and send it by email to the Race Secretary Sally Woods. Please distribute and display the Bulletin, Entry Form PDF and Entry Form Word Doc as required.

Race Format for 2012 LSERSA Race Series   Note that Racers will need to say at bib collection whether they will be entering the team dual slalom or not. It is very important that racers let race control know if they change their mind for whatever reason. Just not turning up causes real problems and spoils it for other racers.

 

Officials: Assistance in the form of Race Officials is essential to ensure that the LSERSA races run smoothly. On the standard entry form individual competitors are asked to indicate if family members can officiate - and we would appreciate it if people could continue to do this. However, if we do not receive adequate volunteers via the entry forms any Club who has at least 5 racers competing on any one of the races will be expected to provide two volunteers. Clubs will be contacted either prior to the race or, if necessary, on the actual day. Your cooperation with this scheme would be greatly appreciated.

 

Note: BBQs and any other form of camp cooking equipment are not permitted at ANY slope due to Fire Safety regulations.

Yellow cable pulling Gunk (wax) is NOT pemitted at Welwyn.

Since we ran an inter-club competition it is important that a racer's name, club and age group (year of birth) are specified correctly. Please check these, and generally for other errors such as spelling mistakes, and notify Alan Sandell if a change is required. Thank you.
