Dear Friends and Supporters,
This month: Excel programme sees 20 young people trained as snowsports instructors!
Welcome
to the April Newsletter! This is a special edition for
everyone at Snow-Camp as following the trip to Les 2 Alpes this
month we can now announce the success of 20 young people,
newly trained as Level 1 Snowsports Instructors!! This is the
first time since Snow-Camp was established that we have been able to
support young people to reach this level within snowports, and massive
thanks to Sport England for supporting the Excel programme and enabling
this to be possible! Find out more about the programme, read the Press
Release and see the young people with their certificates below!
Also,
the skydiving fundraising day - Jump for Snow-Camp - is taking off with
more people signing up to jump out of a plane in July - why don't you
join them?! We would love to have you onboard.
And
well done to Abi at VOS media who was first out of the hat with the
right answer that Snow-Camp was established in 2003 - Abi wins a
£100 Ellis Brigham voucher! Congratulations!
Enjoy this month's update.
The Snow-Camp Team
Excel Group Return from Les 2 Alpes!
After
5 months of training, the photo above marks the successful completion
of a fantastic journey for the first ever 20 young people to sign up for
our Excel instructors programme. The young people, from all across
London, were proud to receive their Level 1 certificates from
Snowsport England trainers who attended the week and carried out
the final assesments. 8 snowboarders and 12 skiers completed the
training successfully, some of whom will now progress to employment with
Snow-Camp, teaching their peers on our forthcoming summer programmes.

Graham Bell to host 2011 City Drinks event

Snow-Camp supporter Graham Bell has kindly agreed to host our 3rd Annual Snow-Camp
City Drinks evening, on 29th June 2011.
This event has been a fantastic way to engage City and corporate
support for Snow-Camp's work (as well as being very enjoyable!) and
we will be making sure this year's event is the
best yet! It certainly has the best venue to date,
as Norton Rose LLP have generously offered their spectacular roof
terrace overlooking the City as a venue for the evening.
City Drinks 2011 will
involve brief presentations and a short movie about Snow-Camp's
work, an auction and raffle to raise funds for the charity and
opportunities to find out about getting your company involved in our
corporate sponsorship programmes. Drinks and canapes will be
served, and we would love to see over 150 corporate and City
individuals attending. If you are interested in attending please email dan@snow-camp.org.uk
Thanks!
