|
| Race Format for 2012 LSERSA Race Series
- will be similar in 2013.
Note that Racers will need to say at bib collection
whether they will be entering the team dual slalom or not. It is very important that racers let race control know if they
change their mind for whatever reason. Just not turning up causes real problems and spoils it for other racers.

Officials:
Assistance in the form of Race Officials is essential to ensure that the LSERSA races run smoothly.
On the standard entry form individual competitors are asked to indicate if family members can officiate
- and we would appreciate it if people could continue to do this. However, if we do
not receive adequate volunteers via the entry forms any Club who has at least 5 racers
competing on any one of the races will be expected to provide two volunteers. Clubs will
be contacted either prior to the race or, if necessary, on the actual day. Your cooperation with this
scheme would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Note: BBQs and any other form of camp cooking equipment are not permitted at ANY slope due to Fire Safety regulations.

RSS News Feeds - what are they and how do I read them?
- RSS feeds are a spam-free, quick and efficient way to read news and weblogs.
To get the most out of newsfeeds, you need a powerful aggregator, though, that lets you
organize, search, categorize and use news items just like emails.
- You'll need a good RSS News Feed reader to do this - Google Reader
is one of the best. There are lots out there, each with their
own specialities and quirks, so pick one that suits you, but if you don't know then try Google Reader.
- Click here for a good, sub four minute, video
Beginners Guide to RSS.

How the Equality Act 2010 affects sports clubs
-
- The Government Equalities Office has prepared guidance on the changes that
have recently been made to the Equality Act 2010 which may
affect some sports clubs.
- The provisions in the Act do not necessarily
apply to all sports clubs, but they do
affect clubs/associations which:
- * have 25 or more members, and
- * control access to membership by rules involving a selection process.
- For example, clubs which require people to make a personal application, be
sponsored by other members and/or go through some kind of selection process will be affected by the changes.
-
The guidance can be found here
on this site or on the Government
Equalities web site
here along with
other useful information.

Skiing
- It's ecstasy, anguish, joy and despair.
- It's part of our history.
- It's part of our country and will be part of our future.
- It's theatre, art, war and love.
- It should be predictable, but never is.
- It's a feeling that can't be explained but we spend our lives explaining it.
- It's our religion. We do not deny it, we do not apologise for it.

- We know how you feel about it because we feel the same.
